Craft course at the medieval farm Stiklastadir
This summer we invite you to a craft course at the medieval farm Stiklastadir.
Piece fabric 28 - 30 June
Course participants learn to make patterns, set up warp and weave simple piece-woven bands. Hanna Wigen is a course teacher. The course costs NOK 1500. In addition, there is NOK 300 in materials.
Viking/medieval cap 6 – 7 July
The course participants sew their own Viking or medieval cap in woolen fabric. All stitching is done by hand. Course instructor is Runa Karmhus from Verdal. The course costs NOK 1100. In addition, there is NOK 300 in materials.
Viking dress or skirt 12-14 July
The course participants get to sew their meadow Viking dress or coat in wool or linen. On the course, the hidden seams are sewn by machine and the seams shown are sewn by hand. Course instructor is Runa Karmhus. The course costs NOK 1500. In addition, there are costs for materials. It varies depending on whether you choose to sew in wool or linen. From NOK 650 to NOK 900.
Plant coloring 19 - 21 July
Course participants get to help collect plants to dye woolen yarn with. In addition, you color with dried plants. The course costs NOK 1500. In addition, there are costs for materials. These are paid directly to the course holder, depending on how much yarn and which yarn you buy.
Willow braiding 2 - 4 August 
The course participants can make a basket and another simple object such as a bird feeder. The course is taught by Lene Jacobsen from Stadsbygd. The course costs NOK 1500. In addition, there is NOK 350 in materials.
Needle binding 10 – 11 August
The course participants learn the technique of needle binding and make sample patches and small garments such as pulse warmers or hats. Course instructor is Hanna Wigen. The course costs NOK 1100. In addition, there is NOK 300 in materials.
All courses take place inside and outside at the medieval enigma Stiklastadir. No prior knowledge is required and all tools and materials are included in the price. There is a maximum of five participants on most courses.
It is possible to buy food at the Stiklestad hotel or bring a packed lunch. You can also spend the night at the medieval farm in the guest loft, or at the Stiklestad hotel. This must be ordered on 74044200.
