- It is always great to play Olav Haraldsson himself. It's also exciting to see the character come to life outside the game amphitheatre, says Haga.

This year marks a thousand years since Olav Haraldsson married the Swedish princess Astrid Olofsdatter, as a means of avoiding conflict with the Swedes. The historic wedding took place at the royal estate in Borg. As part of the Olsok Days at Stiklestad, the festival organizes the magnificent event "King's Wedding". Here, the public will have the opportunity to relive the wedding with a grand wedding ceremony outside the longhouse at the medieval farm Stiklastadir.

- The fact that it is also approaching the thousandth anniversary of the battle at Stiklestad makes it all a little extra special, says Haga.

After the outdoor wedding, the stage is set for a sumptuous wedding feast in the long house at Stiklastadir with plenty of food, theater performances and music, where the audience can take part in a real wedding celebration a thousand years back in time.

Registration for the festival is still open, and tickets can be purchased by following this link.
