"The community of discord in a museum?"

"Community of disagreement" is increasingly used to describe a well-functioning democracy. But what do we actually mean by the term? And how fruitful is it in the thinking around our museum practices? What role can and should the community of disagreement have in a museum?

These questions form the core of the seminar "Community of disagreement at a museum?" at the Falstad Center and Stiklestad National Cultural Center on 14 and 15 October.

There will be lectures, discussions, tours and practical exercises. In addition, participants will get to see the brand new exhibition The new planet, produced by the Human Rights Academy.

The seminar is a collaboration between the democracy network and the diversity network and is open to all interested parties. It will take place from lunch to lunch, with the first day at Falstad and the second day at Stiklestad, with the option of an overnight stay at Scandic Stiklestad. After lunch on day two, there will be an annual meeting for the Democracy Network, as well as project meetings.
