New exhibition in the Leidagsgalleriet: Jørgen Platou Willumsen

Jørgen Platou Willumsen b.1986. Lives and works in Oslo. Over the past few years, has worked with paintings that deal with nature, craft traditions, and working-class images from the turn of the century. In many ways, it has been a search for where we come from, and which direction society has taken. The approaches to the exhibitions have been different, but the common denominator has been people in contact with the earth, forest, sea, mountains, and depictions of working with nature.

"I am fascinated by size and the importance nature has on us. In the face of open expanses, deep valleys and high mountains, we are put into a perspective that says something about how small and powerless we really are. At the same time, it is in nature that I find my inner peace, inspiration and the greatest joys".
