Sauna from Åkran - in search of Finnish forest traditions in Verdal.
Do they find any exciting tracks?

Åkran has been inhabited by people of forest Finnish descent, but does the sauna that stood there have anything to do with forest Finnish traditions? Here you can watch a short film about the sauna. Our conservator Per Steinar Brevik talks to Kornelia, aged 8, about the research we have done to find out as much as possible about the sauna. How old is it? What is it used for? Does it have anything to do with Finnish forest traditions? Together they also visit the farm Åkran where the sauna used to be. Do they find any exciting tracks?

Film: Adrian Tørring Haug from Camerat AS.

The film is produced by Stiklestad National Cultural Center in collaboration with Camerat.
This summer, the film was shown at the sauna at the folk museum in Stiklestad.
If you want to see the sauna, or other buildings at the museum, you are welcome here!
