Silya is coming to create a lively atmosphere during the opening concert for Olsokdagene at Stiklestad 2023!

OPENING CONCERT AT STIKLESTAD WITH SILYA & THE SAILORS

Silya is one of Norway's strongest live artists and is coming to Stiklestad on 25 July! Over the years she has played hundreds of concerts with her band Silya & The Sailors. They are coming and will make sure to create an atmosphere during the opening concert for Olsokdagene at Stiklestad 2023.

Having devoted almost her entire life to music, Silya has become a rare powerful musician and songwriter with a presence that captivates audiences and reviewers every time she performs. Where much pop music today is electronic and streamlined, Silya's music is organic and liberated. She picks freely from favorite genres in music history, but whether it's soul, funk, rock or jazz, her feet are always firmly planted in pop. Silya is one of Norway's rawest stage personalities and together with her steady musicians they create a brilliant atmosphere on both large and small intimate stages.

Silya's songs show a huge love for wind instruments and fierce rhythm sections, although she most often uses the ukulele as a starting point when writing her songs.

After winning Stjernekamp on NRK1 and Norwegians' hearts in 2013, Silya moved back to Norway from New York. In the same year, she started the band Silya & The Sailors, and released the album "Unanchored", which received fantastic reviews and established Silya as one of the great live artists. In 2015, she also had a major role in the musical "Sweeney Todd" at Det Norske Teateret.

Silya Nymoen grew up on Østensjø in Oslo and started with music and dance as a child, and as half Inderøyning, it is clear that she has to come here to Innherred!

"The Olsok days at Stiklestad 2023 will start on 25-30 July, with performances of The Game of Saint Olav on 26, 28, 29 and 30 July," says head of department at Stiklestad Ingegerd Eggen. "We hope that tickets for both the game and the opening concert with Silya can be suitable as Christmas presents for many, and we look forward to a magnificent opening concert and new game memories at Stiklestad in the summer of 2023!"
