Opening concert with DDE and Verdal Teaterlag
We have the great pleasure of presenting DDE as this year's artist for the opening concert during the Olsokdagene in Stiklestad, July 24th! With them on stage are guest soloists from Verdal Teaterlag. 10 years after "Vinsjan på kaia" it is now time for musical reminiscence!
This year marks 10 years since Verdal Teaterlag's performance "Vinsjan på kaia" was sold out in Verdal. A theatre performance based on DDE's music, with script and direction by Arnulf Haga. Here the audience got to experience the power and quality of some of DDE's best songs and actors from Verdal Teaterlag impressed in large group numbers and great individual performances.
"During this year's Olympic Games, the audience is invited to an opening concert with DDE, where the repertoire is the same songs that were used during the theater performance "Vinsjan på kaia". Here, some of Verdal Teaterlag's soloists from that time will be seen on stage - together with DDE!" says production manager at SNK, Hildur Norum. She adds "SNK and Verdal Teaterlag have a long and good tradition of cooperation, and it is fantastic that DDE also wanted to cooperate with us to bring about this specially created concert in Borggården, which has been rigged with standing rooms for the occasion". Norum emphasizes that there will not be a reunion with the actual theater performance "Vinsjan på kaia" during the Olympic Games, but a concert that offers a final re-hearing of the songs from the performance.
The DDE says the following:
"We at DDE are both honored and excited about the fantastic production and achievements Verdal Teaterlag and Arnulf Haga were responsible for back in 2015. We are very much looking forward to playing the songs ourselves, some of them together with those who sang them in the performance, and some in versions we have never done before. This will be a slightly different DDE concert, and should be an evening for the memory book!"
Leader of Verdal Theatre Company, Frida Lyng Renå says:
"The performance "Vinsjan på Kaia" was a fantastic success for Verdal Teaterlag, the most watched performance of all time with an audience of 18.
"Reuniting with Tore, Jeanette, Adrian and Vetle together with DDE 10 years later will be great! We are really looking forward to this collaboration, and think it is a great honor to be a part of this project!"
Musicians in DDE: Bjarne Brøndbo, Eivind Berre, Daniel Viken, Arnt Egil Rånes, Bård Jørgen Iversen and Eskil Brøndbo.

Verdal Theatre Group's theatre performance "Vinsjan på kaia" was performed for two seasons, 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. The performance was based on an idea by Frode Haugmark, script and direction by Arnulf Haga, music by Frode Viken, kchoreography by Anett Hjelkrem, musical director Erling Helland and scenography by Erlend Haga.
