OPENING CONCERT WITH BJØRN Eidsvåg WITH BAND

We are delighted to announce that Bjørn Eidsvåg and his band will be performing the opening concert during the Olympic Days in Stiklestad, July 24, 2026!

After half a century in the music industry, Bjørn Eidsvåg stands as a beacon in Norwegian music life, and for a number of years he has played approximately 80 concerts every year in all corners of the country. After an eventful autumn and winter with concerts and a new show, he is ready to take to the festival stages in the summer of 2026. "We are incredibly pleased that Eidsvåg's only stop at Innherred in the summer of 2026 is with us," says production manager for Olsokdagene, Ida Haugmark.

Olympics 2011

The last time Eidsvåg visited us at Stiklestad was during the Olsokdagene in 2011, a few days after the terrorist attack on Utøya and in the government quarter. Under the circumstances Norway was in, we couldn't have had a better artist than Eidsvåg at the time. With his many warm, popular songs such as "Skyfri himmel" and "Eg ser", it was impossible not to be touched.

ORDER OF ST. OLAV

This year, Eidsvåg was awarded the Order of St. Olav and the following can be read at the Norwegian Royal House: "His Majesty the King has appointed artist, composer, lyricist and theologian Bjørn Eidsvåg as Commander of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav for his outstanding musical work."

Careers

Since its inception in 1971, Bjørn has released 28 albums, played about 80 concerts each year, published a book, had his own TV program, radio program and took the stage at Det Norske Teatret with the self-written theater performance “Etterlyst: Jesus” – to name a few. In 2024, Bjørn turned 70, and was surprised by a packed Oslo Spektrum with the surprise concert “Ingen vei tilbake” which was broadcast on NRK1 and became the sixth most watched program on NRK in 2024.

We are really looking forward to July 24th and a reunion with a legend in Norwegian music life.
