NEW CHOREOGRAPHER AND AUDITION FOR THE PLAY ABOUT SAINT OLAF 2026
Stiklestad National Cultural Center (SNK) and Museene Arven have the great pleasure of announcing another person from Trøndelag in the artistic team: "When it comes to dancing and choreography this summer, Magnus Myhr from Klæbu is responsible," confirms Ida Haugmark, production manager for Spelet om Heilag Olav.
Magnus Myhr is from Klæbu in Trøndelag and is a trained dance artist from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, BA modern and contemporary dance in 2007. Magnus has broad experience as a performer and choreographer within dance, performance, musical and theatre in the project-based field and at institutions such as the National Theatre, Den Nationale Scene, Riksteatret, Det Norske Teatret, Oslo Nye Teater, Teater Innlandet, Trøndelag Teater and Carte Blanche.
Magnus has choreographed and produced the performances I SAID ON A STONE AND LOOKED ACROSS THE “SEA” (2014), GREEN (2016), IN THE DISTANCE, TROJA (2018), HEARTFELT (2020), BANGER (2024) and KAUK (2026). I SAID ON A STONE… won the Trondheim Prize 2014 for Performing Arts of the Year.
Magnus says the following about the job for the summer:
«It is with both joy and not a little awe that I have accepted the offer to be the choreographer at Stiklestad in 2026, joining the ranks of so many talented dance artists before me. I hope that Maren (director), the team and I can create a version that both renews and preserves, and that we can work with play, lightness and great seriousness with all the wonderful participants, big and small. I am looking forward to it!

AUDITION FOR AMATEUR ROLES, DANCE AND FARM PEOPLE
VERDAL THEATERLAG is organizing auditions, March 7th and 8th, 2026.
Anyone who wants to find out what Spel, teater og Stiklestadsommer has to offer should sign up. We are looking for performers with many different qualities and characteristics, in a wide variety of ages, gender identities and backgrounds. What is most important is that you like challenges and to express yourself creatively. By participating in the game you will meet professional actors, a professional artistic team and lots of people with the same interests as you. Here there is strong cooperation, networking, new acquaintances and not least varied and exciting tasks for everyone.
There are many roles to be filled, and we are looking for both farm workers, dancers and amateur roles. We are also looking for women and men who want few exciting tasks related to the army. With its massive number of committed and skilled participants, the army constitutes one of the most exciting visual and physical contributions to the history being conveyed.
Registration for auditions opens in January.
The play about Saint Olav will be performed on July 25, 26, 28 and 29, 2026. The play is the core of the Olsokdagene festival in Stiklestad, which takes place July 24-29.
