Stiklestad for the new millennium: Key roles go to local suppliers
Spera AS from Verdal has been chosen as project manager and interaction advisor in Stiklestad for the new millennium leading up to the National Jubilee 2030.
Stiklestad for the new millennium is a large-scale museum initiative to further develop Stiklestad towards the National Jubilee in 2030. The goal of the project is to develop Stiklestad as an attraction, museum and meeting place and thus reach an even greater number of visitors from the local community, the region, Norway and the world. "The project will contribute to democratic preparedness by strengthening Stiklestad's role as a bridge-building meeting place characterized by knowledge and dialogue. The Heart is an innovative main exhibition where you will, among other things, experience various representations of the battle in 1030, diverse stories about the symbolic place Stiklestad through a thousand years and of course: original objects. This will be a museum experience of international top class," says director of Museene Arven, Heidi Anett Øvergård Beistad.

Selection of supplier for project management and interaction consultant
Construction is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2026. The project manager and interaction advisor will be key functions in the project going forward. Two public competitions for deliveries for these functions have recently been held in collaboration with Innkjøpskontoret as.
Spera as from Verdal has been chosen as the winner of both competitions.
-It is gratifying that a local supplier is asserting itself in competition with national companies, and that the project contributes to local value creation, says Ingegerd Eggen, museum manager and project manager at Stiklestad National Cultural Center.
She adds that in several phases of the project they have had extensive and good collaboration with Proneo on project management and other services, with Spera as a subcontractor.
-We are now entering a new phase of the project. With this comes demands for new public competition and the need for more construction engineering expertise among project managers.
The focus on local and regional ripple effects has been an important part of the project since the beginning:
-We have conducted a ripple effect analysis that estimates that the development could have economic ripple effects for local and regional businesses of between 22 and 38 million kroner annually when the project is completed. The OECD also points to the importance of culture and tourism in creating attractive local communities. For Verdal, Innherred and Trøndelag, Stiklestad will be an important contribution for the new millennium, she says.
Seven offers were received for the project management provider and five for the role of interaction advisor. In both competitions, the following criteria were used for assessment: price 20%, solution proposal 30%, assignment-specific expertise 50%.
Spera scored the best overall on the criteria in both competitions.
CEO Kent Are Helden of Spera says the following about being given the assignment:
- We thank you for your trust and look forward to helping develop Stiklestad towards the National Jubilee 2030. We are already familiar with the project, and it means a lot to us to be able to contribute to such an important project here locally. Our job will be to ensure good processes and clear progress, in close collaboration with SNK/MA and the other stakeholders, says Kent Are Helden, CEO of Spera AS.
