HILDEGUNN EGGEN GIVES THE OPENING SPEECH DURING THE PREMIERE OF THE PLAY ABOUT SAINT OLAF 2026!

It is a great pleasure for us to announce that the opening speech during the premiere will be given by Spelveteran and Stiklestadvennen Hildegunn Eggen. 

No one has played the role of Gudrid more times than Hildegunn, she has also been a dancer, Helga, Grima and a prologue reader a number of times. Director of Museene Arven, Heidi Anett Øvergård Beistad, says the following about this year's premiere speech: "The speech before the premiere of "The Play of Saint Olav" is always a big event. This year this is reinforced by the fact that it will be the first performance in the renewed Stiklestad amphitheater. In this connection, we wanted someone who reflects several unique qualities of the play's heritage at Stiklestad: strong local affiliation, high artistic quality, formidable communication power, deep traditions and a unique volunteerism. And then Hildegunn Eggen's name quickly appeared on the block. We are enormously grateful that she accepted."

This year's theme for the Olsok Days is "SOURCE", a very relevant theme considering Hildegunn's experience in the field of acting, as well as her long acting career. Her deep dive into sources has been a necessity for her performance of the various roles she has had at Stiklestad and other stages. When asked what Stiklestad has meant to her, Hildegunn says the following: "Stiklestad is the very hearth of my career choice and development."

The Olsokdagene in Stiklestad takes place from July 24th to 29th. "The Play of Saint Olav" is performed on July 25th, 26th, 28th and 29th.
