Pilgrim at Stiklestad
The pilgrimage site Stiklestad is both an important stop on the St. Olavsleden and a good starting point for hiking the 134 km towards Nidaros Cathedral and Trondheim. The saint king Olav Haraldsson fell here in battle on 29 July 1030 and was canonized the following year. As a consequence of this event, there was considerable pilgrimage traffic in the Middle Ages, primarily to his burial place in Nidaros/Trondheim, but also to his place of death in Stiklestad.

Stay in modern facilities at the hotel or in medieval surroundings at Gjesteloftet at Stiklastadir. Restaurant Skalden has food from morning to evening, so here you can get all the meals you want. Otherwise, we have options for both renting bed linen, luggage transport and more.

Scandic Stiklestad is a hotel with a high standard, located on the actual battlefield of Stiklestad. In our atmospheric rooms, you can retire after today's experiences at Stiklestad, and enjoy the view of the cultural landscape outside.

The guest loft at Stiklastadir
The beds are a reconstruction from the Middle Ages and are a little shorter than today's standard. There are 6 single beds in the same room, like a dormitory. There are toilet and shower facilities, and there is a small kitchenette for dry food. Breakfast can be purchased additionally, served at the hotel. Bed linen can also be rented.
