Comes from: Almoå's east in Skjelstadmarka, Stjørdal.
Age: Built in 1823.
To the museum: 1996.

Almoåsstuggu is a small trønderloan that is built in lafta timber and panelled. Inside, the second floor is panelless. External dimensions are 13×5,4 m.

There were many such small Trønderlåners in Trøndelag, and the building is a good representative of houses on smaller farms in the region.

The building was moved entirely to the museum, so the interior is as it was when the house stood on Almoås. After the move, new table covers had to be laid and some windows had to be replaced, but both parts are copies of the original. All in all, this is one of the best preserved buildings in the museum.

The museum originally intended to move all the buildings from Bjønnmelen in Ulvilla. But it turned out that the farmhouse was in such bad shape that it could not be erected. Almoåsstuggu is almost the same as the house from Bjønnmelen, and replaces it in "Bjønnmeltunet".
