Carpenter's chew
Stable and carpentry workshop, probably built in the early 1800th century on the farm Rønningen in Ulvilla in Verdal..
Comes from: Rønningen in Ulvilla in Verdal.
Age: Not sure, early 1800th century?
To the museum: 1978.
The building is made of spruce timber, set on gray stone walls and the roof is covered with peat. Originally, it was a spontaneous roof. Stuggu is square with external dimensions of approx. 4,4×4,4 m.
The building was used as a storeroom and carpentry workshop on the farm Rønningen in Ulvilla, but was moved to the museum to have a house for the exhibition of carpentry tools. When the house was erected, new window frames had to be made, but the old glass was inserted. Now the building contains, among other things, equipment designed by the well-known chair maker Jon Helmo.
Originally, there was only coal for the fire place, but a cast iron furnace was installed in 1992, at the same time the pipe was repaired with steel pipes after a fire. The roof was redone in 2003.
