Preliminary project phase 1 Stiklestad for a new millennium
We are now pleased to announce the results of preliminary project phase 1 for the site development project Stiklestad for a new thousand years. This involves specifying the development of Stiklestad towards 2030, including content in the new main exhibition and a cost framework that has been reduced by approx. 130 million.
The site development project Stiklestad for the new millennium is our local initiative on the occasion of the National Jubilee 2030. The project's ambition is to further develop Stiklestad in a way that unites the local history with SNK's distinctive character as a museum. This is how the Stiklestad of the future will respond to society's growing need for democracy-promoting arenas by offering meaningful experiences that involve a wide range of people and invite dialogue. The aim is lasting attraction development, increased visits and not least: to further develop Stiklestad as a meeting place locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. The project's main priority is a new main exhibition.
A living playing legacy at Stiklestad towards 2030
The project "A living player legacy at Stiklestad towards 2030" was launched on 1 April 2022. The project's goal was to thematize the future of the player legacy at Stiklestad and the development of the Game of Saint Olav in particular. The project had two focus areas: artistic development and sustainability. The project is an important part of the work leading up to the National Jubilee 2030.
Final report, mediation arena Stiklestad
We are keen to develop Stiklestad as a valuable and relevant symbolic place, dissemination arena and meeting place for the new millennium!
That is why we want to create a comprehensive plan for the battle site and the symbolic site of Stiklestad with a focus on the stories that all visitors will experience when they come here.
Important parts are the location and building design of the new main exhibition, upgrading of the existing main building and design of the paths between the various dissemination sites at Stiklestad.
Development plan Museums Arven “Where stories meet”
Development plan Museene Arven 2021-2024: "Where stories meet"
The Arven museums must have a conscious and active relationship with their social mission. In the development plan "Where stories meet", Museene Arven has created a museum platform that contains our vision, our values and the essence of our common understanding of museums and ambitions as a social actor. This is the foundation for our entire business.
The platform should be read in its entirety, but here is the gist:
The Arven museums will contribute to meetings between people and stories that inspire conversation, reflection and community engagement. In this way, Museene Arven will be a museum that contributes to viable democracy.
The plan was developed before the name change in 2023 and the former name Stiklestad Nasjonale Kultursenter (SNK) will characterize Museene Arven.
Plan
The platform should be read in its entirety.

"Where stories meet"
Development plan SNK 2022-2025: "Where stories meet"
This document is the local development plan for SNK Stiklestad.
The plan will ensure comprehensive, high-quality and goal-oriented museum operations at SNK Stiklestad during the planning period.
SNK Stiklestad's development plan must be seen in the context of "Where stories meet", which is the overall development plan for the consolidated museum Stiklestad National Cultural Center (SNK) in the period 2021-2024. SNK's shared vision is Where stories meet.
My voice - our stories
My voice - our stories are a guide to how museums and memorial sites can create a learning arena for adult education for minority speakers, where the participant's voice and history are at the center. The teaching program will strengthen the participant's opportunities to become active citizens and give them the skills to participate in democratic processes. The project has been a collaboration between the Falstad Centre, the Stiklestad National Cultural Center and the Center for Adult Education in Trondheim.
