Olsok days 2025
OLSO DAYS AT STIKLESTAD 2025!
The 2025 Olsok Days are history and can be summarized as follows: A play that impressed and touched the audience, a Stiklestad profile and an Olsok exhibition that addressed the festival theme BOUNDARIES from powerful perspectives, a well-attended podium program, atmospheric music experiences and a great festival atmosphere!
“Our goal is to create a festival characterized by valuable and thought-provoking experiences. It is therefore a joy to see that Olsokdagene 2025 reaches and engages so many. The festival theme BOUNDARIES felt almost uncomfortably relevant and we are proud to have hosted so many wise voices, including Stiklestad profile Ingeborg Senneset, Minister of Culture and Equality Lubna Jaffery and the National Center for Outsider Art”, says Heidi Anett Øvergård Beistad, Director of Museene Arven. “It is also a great honor, and a powerful expression of the bond between our two countries, that the Ukrainian Ambassador Oleksiy Gavrysh visited Stiklestad and gave a moving speech before the final performance of Spelet om Heilag Olav.”
This year's play was the second under Nina Wester's artistic direction and under the direction of Ingrid Forthun. "Once again this year the play is able to create debate! It has been a great joy and inspiration to hear the audience's feedback on the performance. Many are deeply moved. We are enormously grateful to everyone who has contributed to the mother of all plays once again showing the unique power she carries within her," says Øvergård Beistad.
“We are particularly pleased that several of our events during the Olsok Days reach a wide range of age groups. It is touching to see three generations enjoying themselves together during the plays, the opening concert with DDE and Verdal Teaterlag and the Children's Olsok Day,” says Ingegerd Eggen, museum manager at Stiklestad National Cultural Center.
A total of 10 spectators saw this year's edition of the Play about St. Olav and approximately 100 visited the Olsokdagene in Stiklestad.
"A total of 540 volunteers participated in this year's festival, the youngest at 4 years old and the oldest over 80!"
A big thank you to all volunteers, employees, committed actors, partners and the public for their invaluable efforts. Many new, valuable Stiklestaminner have been created these days! "concludes Ingegerd Eggen.
Next year's game dates are July 25, 26, 28, and 29.
