VIKING FEAST AT STIKLESTADIR
The chieftain Kolbjørn Gunnarson invite you to a guild feast at Stiklestadir. We will sacrifice to the gods who have given him healthy and strong sons. The Chief shows his greatness in the form of a tasty meal in an adventurous atmosphere with warm and cold dishes, beer and wine of that time. His sister has also returned to the farm to help him with the feast.

EVOCATIVE MOMENT IN STIKLESTAD CHURCH – «MEETING WITH THE HOLY»
Experience the church with beautiful music and candlelight. Listen to tales of Olav Haraldsson in an ambience which can only be created by the church room. We are at the place where it happened, where the king fell in the battle of 1030 and we hear some of the legends about the saint king. Can be combined with a guided tour. Can be done in several languages on request.

EVOCATIVE MOMENT IN OLAV’S LIBRARY
We can offer a respite from a busy day of meetings, or as an aperitif before dinner that evening; a leisurely moment with singing, lyrics and music. Can be adapted to foreign guests upon request.

VIKING FOR A DAY
Period: 24. June – 13. August
Step back in time on the farm Stiklestadir, where you can experience history in action with our communicators, making your mind and imagination fly. While children dress up in order to enact the battle itself, adults can see and learn how life was at that time. Amongst other things, learn how to light a fire with flint and steel, archery, or maybe you want to try your hand at being an archeologist? THIS IS WHERE IT HAPPENED!
WELCOME HISTORY: A resounding welcome greeting, an evocative legend or a humorous anecdote from the history of Olav. Duration: 5 – 10 minutes.
GUIDED TOUR AROUND HISTORIC STIKLESTAD: Join one of our guides who will give you insight into the history of the Sain king Olav and show you around the battlefield. Duration: about 2 hours.
GUIDED TOUR OF STIKLESTAD CHURCH: Stone church from 1180, erected on the site where Olav Haraldsson was killed in 1030. Duration: about 30 minutes.
DRAMATISED GUIDED TOUR WITH LUNCH
24. June to 13. August
Join a dramatised tour where the folk museum is brought to life with adults and children in the court yards telling their stories and living their lives. Become familiar with families from three eras, 1898, 1959 and 1942, in play and in earnest. What does the legacy from our ancestors mean for us today? Customised tours in English and German available.

COFFEE BY THE BURIAL MOUNDS
The area around Stiklestad has the largest collection monumental burial mounds in Norway. We stroll up to the old burial mounds and we are told the stories of bygone power and of myths that still live…..What did they believe in those who are now buried in the Hallemsmarka (the Hallem field), not least: what did those who buried them believe in? We invite you to a walk among large and small burial monuments on one of the big farms in Verdal, and we explain why the Hallem farmers were buried with gilded jewellery and exclusive Roman glass when they were buried 17-1800 years ago.
