Scandic Stiklestad Hotel opened in 2007, gifting the millennium-old meeting place with an ultra modern hotel featuring 48 large double rooms, 4 superior rooms and 4 suites.
Are you looking for a total experience that is beyond the ordinary – at the very location of the Battle of Stiklestad?Together with the Stiklestad National Cultural Centre (SNK), we put together custom packages, whether for business conferences, wedding receptions, get-togethers with friends or other occasions. Historical retrospect and experiences, an all-round and creative restaurant, a cluster of conference rooms and rooms where you live like an old Norse king… We create a unique setting – if you let us.
SNK is a national hub for telling the story of Saint Olav and the Battle of Stiklestad during the Middle Ages. Here you will find old, historic buildings alongside new, modern buildings. This provides a wonderful link between the present and times past, as do our broad range of experience packages. Elements from the Viking Period can be found throughout, including the hotel interior. Stiklestad Hotell is a subsidiary of the SNK and is built as an integrated part of the Cultural Centre.
Stiklestad had more than 130,000 visitors last year, ranging from companies and tourists to families and history buffs. The airport and railway station are only a short distance from Stiklestad and we are happy to arrange transport. How about an eventful journey with unexpected events – like a Viking hijack where the soldiers take control and decide where the journey will go Next?
With a background of the most important event in Norwegian history, Stiklestad is an arena for both holiday, course and conference guests. Eight conference rooms with capacity for between15 and 280 people are used for conferences of all sizes. Stiklestad has engaged chefs who are at the cutting edge of Norwegian cuisine. When added to our close working relationship with prized Trøndelag raw goods suppliers, this ensures that guests are served top class food. In the hotel you can see a 216m long painting signed by Norwegian artist, Håkon Bleken.
