The 2025 Olympics offered strong experiences and engaging content with the theme BOUNDARIES as a common thread – from a gripping play and powerful speeches to atmospheric concerts and broad audience experiences. Around 40 visited the festival, and a total of 000 volunteers – from 540 to over 4 years old – helped create magical moments.
We thank you for this year and are already looking forward to what the Olsok days at Stiklestad 2026 have to offer!
THE PROGRAM FOR THE OLSOKS DAYS 2025 IS READY!
In a year where we mark 200 years since the first Norwegian emigrants left for the USA and the theme for the Olsok Days is BORDERS, it is a great pleasure to announce the comprehensive program for the Olsok Days 2025. A Stiklestad profile known for his social commitment and his power of communication, an Olsok artist who highlights valuable stories from society's margins, a rich podium program, and an opening concert with DDE and actors from Verdal Teaterlag are some of the things you can experience at Stiklestad from July 24-29.

Dear everyone
It's finally here again, the most wonderful time of the year. It's time for the Olsokdagene in Stiklestad.
This year's festival theme is BORDERS. The theme is inspired by the 200th anniversary of the start of the Norwegian mass emigration to the United States. It also reflects a time when the world is perceived as both more borderless and more border-oriented, more global and more nationalistic, and where more and more people are fleeing war, climate change and political regimes. The news channels are filled with an overarching narrative that human rights and democracy are being put to the test, including in the country many chose as their new home 200 years ago.
In times like these, cultural experiences become more important than ever. Culture can create community across backgrounds, ages and other identity markers. Culture can be a bridge builder, make us wiser and train our humanity. In this, history plays an important role: it allows us to draw long lines that provide valuable perspectives on our own time. In "The Game of Saint Olav" we meet a family on the farm Sul who know firsthand what power struggles and war mean for the individual. How many people are there who are experiencing the same thing, right here and now?
We at Stiklestad National Cultural Center and the Arven Museums strongly believe in the democratic power of stories coming together. That idea characterizes this year's Olsok Days and it characterizes our major development project towards 2030: "Stiklestad for a new thousand years". I hope you find something in the program that resonates with you.
