Opening of Viking Summer at Stiklestad!

We mark the opening of this year's Viking Summer with experiences for the whole family. Throughout the day you can explore Viking Summer, experience history up close and visit the museum. In addition to the regular daily program, the day offers lectures, entertainment and an evening concert.

Viking Summer is open 11:00–16:00

Extra experiences on opening day:

12:00 – Official opening by Mayor Knut Snorre Sandnes and dancing by Huldance students.

1:00 PM – Lecture with Håvard Stuberg about Rye and music by Verdal junior spelmannslag
We mark the opening of this year's season with an exciting historical lecture about Rye, accompanied by beautiful music from the junior spelmanslaget.

15.00 - Viking poo with Are Sende Osen
A humorous and educational journey into the Viking Age! Are takes children on stories about voyages of discovery, myths, Viking ships, strange historical facts and a fun quiz. An experience for both young and old history enthusiasts.

17.00 - The Viking age from Ahhhh to Åhhh with Are Sende Osen
Based on the popular podcast Kongerekka, Are takes us through 1200 years of Norwegian kings, power struggles, drama and history. With extra focus on Trøndelag and the battle of Stiklestad in Billett: stiklestad.no, price: NOK 217,-

7:30 PM – Concert with Robber's Daughter at Rye!
The day ends with a concert from the local band Røverdatter. An outdoor concert in Rye. There will be folk tunes, songs, a good atmosphere and the premiere of self-composed music.

Welcome to an eventful day at Stiklestad!

The lecture at 1:00 PM and the children's show at 3:00 PM are included in the day ticket to Vikingsommer.
